Testing polygon

On November 11, 2010 we have launched a major investment – The testing polygon, which will provide further FERRIT, s.r.o.  development.
In 2010, within the Operational Programme of Enterprise and Innovation, we have first started with building of a testing track and later on with a test bridge and buildings development. In total, we have invested about CZK 50 million, in these projects. Necessity of such investment is due to several reasons. It is primarily new machines development, which is unthinkable without such a polygon. Our locomotives are operating in coal mines in the toughest conditions. It is therefore necessary to test the machines at simulated mining conditions at the surface. Another equally important reason is testing of serially produced machines. Every monorail suspended locomotive is being tested at the testing polygon in such a way, that any unlikely imperfections will show.
Test polygon is stands of three parts - the test track, the test bridge and the test building. The test track forms a closed loop. Imitation of mine corridors and curves enables to examine the behavior of locomotives and auxiliary equipment in very close to mine conditions. In the track profile, there is a rack-railway installed on the ground for the rack rail locomotives and other equipment testing. The test bridge is formed by a road bridge and lift tower with lifting device, allowing tilting of the bridge. The test bridge is designed in a way enabling to simulate locomotives operation in gradients of 0 ° to 35 °. At the test bridge, there will be suspended and rack rail locomotives tests carried out. Emergency brakes will be tested here also.  Testing hall will allow work at the polygon even under adverse climatic conditions.
