Development of new mining locomotives

Currently, two new mining locomotives are being developed by the development department of the company Ferrit; one for transport on suspension railways with type designation DLZ120F and one for surface railway transport with type designation DLP140F.

The new locomotive for transport on suspension railways with type designation DLZ120F arises from the construction of its predecessor, locomotive DLZ110F; it is fitted with a new Zetor engine (model range 1505) with max. capacity 90 kW. Its cabin cars are newly equipped with brakes; the control system box is relocated from the engine frame to one of the cabins; the brakes on the locomotive engines are new. Constructional changes improve the technical parameters of the locomotive in addition to its running qualities. The locomotive DLZ120F will be manufactured in various modifications – with a pumping unit with Vg 180 cm3, hydraulic engines with two various geometric volumes (MS05-0 or MS05-2) and with a quantity of drives from four to six. Its max. pulling force will be 144 kN and max. speed 7.2 km/hour.
A prototype of the locomotive was introduced this year in June at the exposition UGOL ROSSII & MINING 2007 in Novokuzneck, and there was a lot of interest in it despite competition such as Scharf, Pioma or Monotrans. Its testing operation in one particular mine was also decided at the exposition. In September, the locomotive was introduced at an exposition of mining machinery and equipment SIMEX, in the Polish city of Katowice.
Currently, the testing necessary for certification of the locomotive is being completed to enable its release onto the market and the commencement of serial production.

The new locomotive for surface railway transport - DLP140F – arises from the construction of the locomotive P100 E and will serve as only a substitute in the production program as some of its components are no longer manufactured. The new locomotive will be fitted with fully electronically controlled John Deere diesel engine with max. capacity 104 kW and max. pulling force 40 kN. Basic track width of the locomotive will be 900 mm; however, further modifications of the track width are planned. Development of this locomotive is now in the phase of prototype manufacturing documentation processing.
