Mine railway locomotive P70 E is designed for transportation of materials or people in horizontal monkeys on railway lines with wheel gauge 900 mm.
Locomotive can be used in environments that possess the danger of methane and coal dust explosions. According to government order No. 23/2003 (directives No. 94/9/ES of European Parliament and EU Council), the device is classified into group I and category M2. The device fulfills requirements of government order No. 176/2008 (directives No. 2006/42/ES of European Parliament and EU Council).
In order to facilitate transport to the mine, the locomotive may be dismantled into three main parts. The controling of locomotive is made from cabines, which are fitted with control, checking and safety elements and equipment for easy machine control. The design of the cabin ensures good view of the operator providing reliable prevention of injuries and exposure to adversary external effects. The locomotive is furnished with six-cylinder diesel motor ŠKODA 6S 110 CO with hydraulic transmission. Motor is designed to be used in mine conditions as it is equipped with suction and exhaust tract protection accomplished by means of a facility preventing methane explosion or transference into the non-protected atmosphere. The exhaust gases are water-cooled in a special exhaust box in such a way as to prevent thein outlet temperature from rising above the 70°C mark. The engine is activated by a hydraulic starter. The momentum is transferred to the axles of the travelling wheels by a hydraulic gear system with automatic performance control via mutually connected mechanical gear boxes located on the axles. The hydrostatic gearbox is equipped with a system of direct motor regulation that regulates motor efficiency in optimal operation mode, and according to rotation speed and pressure of the hydraulic system, it prevents a potential overload of the hydromotor. The locomotive’s working mode, speed, mileage in engine hours, pressure and temperature values of the diesel-hydraulic set are monitored by an electronic control and safety system. Once the pre-defined values are exceeded, the engine is shut off and the locomotive brought to a standstill.
