We’re thrilled to share exciting news from Mining Weekly!
JA Engineering Works (Pty) Ltd and FERRIT s.r.o. have officially launched the DVU - a robust, heavy-duty multipurpose utility vehicle built for underground mining operations.
Designed to carry up to 15 people (expandable to 18) and a payload of 1.6 t, the DVU is modular, featuring options like cranes, compressors, lift attachments, and more.
Powered by a Cummins diesel engine, this 4.9 tonne vehicle boasts all-terrain capability, ROPS/FOPS cabin protection, automated fire suppression, and optional add-ons like cameras, data loggers, and methane detection.
This is the first vehicle of its kind in Africa, aimed at replacing less safe transport options with a purpose-built solution engineered for the toughest underground conditions.
