Ferrit on the Road, Indian Style: Tasting Our Way Through the Workday

Ferrit on the Road, Indian Style: Tasting Our Way Through the Workday

What would a visit to India be without trying the local cuisine? It’s only once you’re there that you realize how different the real thing is — what we call “curry” in Central Europe is galaxies apart from authentic Indian cooking.

Like most Central Europeans, my colleague and I were craving something familiar like schnitzel or potato salad. But in India, those dishes aren’t on the menu. So we stop at a local restaurant, carefully study the menu, and eventually order rice with chicken in curry and coriander. A great choice. Delicious food, good mood — and then back to work. We finish off with a local beer (personal tip: try the brand "Kolibřík") and head back to clear some emails before the next busy day.

“You’re starting to enjoy Indian cuisine,” my colleague said with a smile. “It’s light, easy to digest, and helps you sleep better.” He was right. After wrapping up the last few messages and sending greetings to my family, I was asleep within a minute.

The next morning takes us to Hyderabad – currently one of India’s fastest-growing cities. The airport even greets us with a nice surprise: a burger joint! After that, it’s a short 90-minute flight on a smaller ATR aircraft. Hyderabad has some incredible architecture, including a striking fish-shaped building — which, according to our guide, houses the national fishermen’s association.

From here, our journey continues to Kolkata and then on to Hanoi, Vietnam.

Stay tuned – more stories from the road and insights into Ferrit’s business in India coming soon.
